Basement Construction of a Church Building (BEAM ANALYSIS).

DESIGN OF BEAM
Beam span between support to carry lateral loads which are resisted by bending and shears. However, deflection and local stress are also important.
Beam may be cantilevered, simple supported, fixed end or continuous beam. The main uses of beam are support floors, columns, carry roof sheeting, a purlins and side cladding and sheet rails.

CLASSIFICATION OF BEAM CROSS SECTION
1) CLASS ONE(1): Plastic Cross-section
2) CLASS TWO(2): Compact cross-section
3) CLASS THREE(3): Semi-compact cross-section
4) CLASS FOUR(4): Slender Cross-Section

BEAM LOADS
1) Concentrated Loads from Secondary beams and column.
2) Distributed Loads from self weight and floor slabs.
ALSO
1) Dead loads from self weight slabs, finishes etc
2) Imposed loads from people, fittings, snow on the roof, etc
3) Wind loads, mainly on purlins and sheeting rails.
